Penrod, Clinton Wiley "Penny", Jr.

Clinton Penrod Jr., 81, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2005, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 3, 1923, at Neelys Landing, son of Clinton and Hanna Pinkerton Penrod. He and Kathryn M. Craft were married Feb. 13, 1948, in Jackson.

"Penny" worked 22 years for the former SEMO Salvage Co. in Cape Girardeau, and 24 years at General Sign Co. in Cape Girardeau, retiring in 1989. He was a member of IBEW Union in St. Louis, and a lifelong member of New Bethel Baptist Church near Pocahontas, attended the Senior Adult Men's Sunday School Class, counted the church collection, and was an avid gardener.

Loving survivors include his wife of 57 years; a son, Bruce and wife Becky Penrod of Jackson; three daughters, Brenda Nagel and husband Mike of Jackson, Bonnie Farrow of Jackson, Barbara Hadler and husband Tim of Perryville, Mo.; three brothers, Harry Penrod and wife, Alice of Everett, Wash., Charles Penrod and wife Lavern of Jackson, Howard Penrod of Texas; and a sister, Ola Rea Bollinger of Jackson.

Also surviving are six grandchildren, April, Robert, Kristy, Kendra, Ridge and Haley; three great-grandchildren, Benjamin, William and Hannah.

He was preceded by a son, Robert "Bobby" Penrod; three brothers, and two sisters.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Revs. John Rhodes and Thomas Bray officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to New Bethel Baptist Church.
