Perry, Leola R. (nee Hotop)

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Leola R. Perry, 87, of Bedford, Texas, died Wednesday, June 8, 2005, at Hearthstone of Bedford Assisted Living.

She was born Dec. 8, 1917, in Perry County, Mo., daughter of Anton Joseph and Louise Pingel Hotop. She and Murrel S. Perry were married Dec. 30, 1941. He died April 3, 1989.

Perry was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Bedford, and former member of St. James Catholic Church at Crosstown, Mo.

Survivors include two sons, James Perry of Sierra Vista, Ariz., Thomas Perry of Robertsville, Mo.; two daughters, Louise Wacker of Bedford, Katherine Melichar of Eureka, Mo.; a sister, Ann Parker of Denver, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, five brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday, and Monday from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. The wake will be at 5 p.m. Sunday, and the rosary will be recited at 8:15 a.m. Monday.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Kevin Fausz will officiate. Burial will be in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery at Crosstown.

A funeral will be held Monday, June 13th, 2005 for Leola R. Perry of Bedford, Texas, formerly of Perryville, who died Thursday, June 8th at Hearthstone of Bedford Assisted Living in Bedford, Texas.

She was born December 8th, 1917 in Perry County, the daughter of Anton Joseph and Louise (Pingel) Hotop who both preceded her in death.

She married Murrel S. Perry on December 30th, 1941. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by two sons, James E. Perry of Sierra Vista, Arizona and Thomas Perry of Robertsville; two daughters, Louise Wacker of Bedford, Texas and Katherine Melichar of Eureka; one sister, Ann Parker of Denver, Colorado; 10 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Wayne Perry; five brothers, Cletus, Norbert, Elmer "Bud", George and Harold Hotop and two sisters, Rita Mueller and Katherine Mattingly.

She was a homemaker and member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Bedford, Texas and former member of St. James Catholic Church in Crosstown.

Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Sunday, June 12th and 6:30-9:30 a.m. Monday, June 13th at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.

A Catholic wake will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday and the Rosary will be recited Monday at 8:15 a.m. at the funeral home.

A funeral mass for 87-year-old Leola R. Perry of Bedford, Texas, formerly of Perryville, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 13th at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. The Rev. Kevin Fausz will officiate.

Burial will be in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Crosstown.

Memorials may be made to the Parkinson Foundation.
