Pohlman, Delmar F.

Delmar F. Pohlman, 84, of Oak Ridge died Sunday, March 29, 2009, at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born May 24, 1924, in Oak Ridge, son of Fred "F.W." and Cora Ruppel Pohlman. He and Lillian E. Aurich were married Jan. 6, 1946, in Farrar, Mo.

Pohlman was a carpenter 38 years, a lifelong farmer and a breeder of registered Angus cattle.

Pohlman was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim, Mo., and a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville. He was a member of Perryville Chamber of Commerce and a lifelong member of American Angus Association, Missouri Angus Association, Pork Producers, and was a 4-H leader 25 years. He was a business agent for Carpenters Union 2022 and a member of the Farm Bureau and East Perry Fair Board.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Eileen Fronabarger and Linda Kramer of Jackson, Judy Holmes of Point Lookout, Mo., Debbie Bacon of Prairie Grove, Ark.; three sons, Leon Pohlman of Perryville, Mo., Terry Pohlman of Oak Ridge, Dr. Fred Pohlman of Prairie Grove; a brother, Melvin Pohlman of Jackson, 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, an infant brother and a granddaughter.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 6:30 to 8 a.m. Thursday at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim, with the Rev. Roger Steinbrueck officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
