Proffer, Ora Kevin
Ora Kevin Proffer, 52, of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at his home. He was born July 12, 1962, in Cape Girardeau son of Ora Day “Bud” and Margie Irene Proffer.
Kevin was a graduate of Cape Central High School and was a member of the Cape Elks Lodge. He had worked many years for Southeast Stone Company in Cape Girardeau and also Strack Stone Company.
Loving survivors include a brother, Karl Proffer of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Zedith Johnson of Burfordville, Beverly (Aaron) Altenthal of Lowndes, and Marilyn (Larry) Pursley of Independence, MO; eight nieces and nephews.
Also surviving are three aunts, Lillie Davie, Ruth Taylor, and Lucille Rhodes.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call Thursday, July 31st, from 5-8 PM at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Funeral service will be Friday, August 1st, at 10:30 AM, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating.
Interment will follow in Proffer Cemetery near Crump, Mo.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to McCombs Funeral Home to help assist with funeral expensses.
