Propst, Hansel Edmond
SEDGEWICKVILLE, Mo. -- Hansel E. Propst, 87, formerly of Sedgewickville, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014, at the Frank M. Tejeda Texas State Veterans Home in Floresville.
He was born July 22, 1927, in Sedgewickville, son of Harley and Hattie Bollinger Propst. He and Leona T. Laurentius were married July 30, 1960. She preceded him in death May 10, 2014.
Hansel was a precision tool cutter and grinder at McDonnell Douglas. He was a member of District 837 IAM Union and American Legion Post 592 in San Antonio.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Dennis Oloteo Jr. of San Antonio; a brother, Dewey (Pat) Propst of Fenton, Missouri; a sister, Verla Jean Crites of Marble Hill, Missouri; and two grandchildren, Nicholas and Diana Oloteo. He was a dear father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Albert "Ray" Propst and Edward "Burl" Propst.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service Monday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Duncan officiating. Burial will be in St. Maurus Cemetery at Biehle, Missouri, with military graveside rites provided by American Legion Post 133 and Missouri Delta Team.
Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association or charity of choice.
