Propst, Violet Hope (nee Crites)

Violet H. Propst, 90, of Jackson, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2006, at the Monticello House in Jackson.

She was born April 18, 1916, in Sedgewickville, Mo., daughter of Dr. Edward and Myrtle Drum Crites. She and Loman Seabaugh were married on June 6, 1936. He passed away Aug. 7, 1941. She and Dale Propst were married on March 14, 1948. He passed away March 17, 1996.

A homemaker and gardener, Violet was a lifetime member of the Willing Helpers Homemaker's Club in Sedgewickville. She was also a lifetime member of Sedgewickville United Methodist Church, where she was active in the UMW and taught children's Sunday school for more than 50 years.

Loving survivors include two daughters, Shirley (Tom) Kaminskey of Jackson and Darlene (Mike) Boyer of Topeka, Kan.; one son, Edward "Eddie" (Wanda) Seabaugh of Columbia, Ill.; and one brother, Tom (Sylvia) Crites of Bloomington, Ind.

Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Doug and Tracy Kaminskey and Dee Curl, all of Jackson, Jeff and Matt Boyer, Kelly Eschman, Scott Seabaugh; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by an infant sister and two infant brothers.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Anthony Stewart officiating. A graveside committal service will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Sedgewickville Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Sedgewickville United Methodist Church or Sedgewickville Cemetery.
