Prost, Rose C. (nee Elder)
PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Rose C. Prost, 74, of Perryville died of cancer Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
She was born Nov. 10, 1926, in Perryville, daughter of Thomas J. and Mary Evelyn Tucker Elder. She and Linus C. Prost were married Feb. 18, 1950.
Prost was a legal secretary many years for Leo J. Rozier. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, and was active in Daughters of Isabella, Cursillo, RCIA, and Knights of Columbus Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband; six sons, the Rev. Charles Prost of Cape Girardeau, Robert, Thomas, Patrick, John and Michael Prost, all of Perryville; a daughter, Louise Pingel of Perryville; four sisters, Ruth Schott of Ste. Genevieve, Mo., Rita Aunspach and Evelyn Unterreiner of Perryville, Doris Graff of Shelbyville, Tenn.; three brothers, Thomas Elder of Ste. Genevieve, Patrick Elder of St. Mary's, Mo., LeRoy Elder of Perryville; and 22 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 3-9 p.m. Sunday, and Monday from 6:30-9:30 a.m. The wake will be at 4 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent's Church, with the Rev. Charles Prost officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
