Quade, Clyde Eugene
Clyde Eugene Quade, 85, of Gordonville died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, at his home.
He was born Nov. 14, 1925, in Gordonville to Jesse and Ida Gerecke Quade.
He married Dorothy Marie Brucker on Oct. 16, 1948, at St. Augustine Church in Kelso, Mo. They lived in the Allenville area from 1948 to 1975, later moving to the Gordonville area. She died Aug. 27, 2011.
He was a veteran of World War ll, serving in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Quade spent his lifetime farming in the Allenville/Gordonville area with his son Larry. He was an active member of the farming community, serving on several boards and committees
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Gordonville, Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Post 158 in Jackson and a former member of Delta Rotary in Delta and the Gordonville Mutual Insurance Board. Clyde served on the Delta R-V School Board and the advisory board of MFA.
Mr. Quade is survived by his daughter, Joyce (Jordan) Needham of Fremont Hills, Mo.; son, Larry (Susan) Quade of Dutchtown; grandchildren, Amy (Richie) Swain, Julie (Kevin) Hulbert and Jordan Needham III; great-grandchildren, Carsyn Swain, Joshua Swain, Ayla Hulbert and Kynzie Hulbert; sisters, Ruby Cook of Jackson, Betty (Lawrence) Brucker of Delta, Patsy (Richard) Morgan of Cape Girardeau; sisters-in-law, Jessie Quade of Potosi, Mo., Anna Marie Brucker of Sikeston, Mo., Pauline Uhrhan of Chaffee, Mo.; 27 nieces and nephews.
Mr. Quade was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers Clarence and Curtis Quade; and sisters Lorene Quade, Irene Clingingsmith, Clara Cracraft and Jessie Hanschen.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gary Hoffstetter officiating. Entombment will follow at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum with full military honors by the Missouri Honors Team.
Memorial contributions may be given to Parkinson Foundation through Christ Lutheran Church, 248 Albert Lane, Gordonville, MO 63752 and to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis TN 38105.
