Queathem, Matilda R. (nee Pingel)

Queathem, Matilda 'Tillie' of St. Charles, Missouri, fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, died on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at the age of 87. Dearest wife of Arthur C. Queathem; devoted mother of Vernon A. (Marilyn) Geile, Thomas B. (Joanne) Geile, Christina M. Geile and Kathleen A. Queathem; beloved grandmother of 8, great-grandmother of 16 and great-great-grandmother of 1; dear sister of Merle Cissell; she was our dearest sister-in-law, aunt and friend. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Bernard J. Geile, 1 brother and 2 sisters. Tillie was and Electronics Tech with McDonnell Douglas for 20 years before her retirement. She was a member of St. Robert's Ladies Council, Quilters of St. Robert's and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post #161 Ferguson 40+ Years.Services: The Family is being served by The BAUE Funeral and Memorial Center, 3950 West Clay Street, St. Charles, MO where visitation will be held Monday, February 25, 2008, 4-9 p.m. Visitation will also be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2008, 6:30-11:30 a.m. at Miller Funeral Home, Perryville, Missouri. Funeral Service 12 p.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, 1000 Rosati Court, Perryville, Missouri 63775. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery, Perryville, Missouri. Memorials may be made to the Roofing Fund at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church.

Matilda "Tillie" Queathem, 87, of St. Charles died Feb. 23, 2008, at SSM St. Joseph Health Center. She was born March 21, 1920, to Adolph F. and Regina J. Pingel in Perryville.

Mrs. Queathem was an electronics technician for McDonnell Douglas. She was a member of the Ladies Council and Quilters at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in St. Charles and the American Legion Post 161 Auxiliary in Ferguson.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur C. Queathem of St. Charles; two sons, Vernon A. Geile of O'Fallon and Thomas B. Geile of St. Peters; two daughters, Christina M. Geile of Jupiter, Fla., and Kathleen A. Queathem of Lake Saint Louis; one sister, Merle Cissell of Perryville; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bernard J. Geile; her parents; one brother; and two sisters.

A funeral Mass was Feb. 26 at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in Perryville with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville.

Memorials may be to the Roofing Fund at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church c/o Baue Funeral and Memorial Center, 3950 W. Clay St., St. Charles, MO 63301.
