Randol, Larry Kirk "Pops"

Larry Kirk "Pops" Randol, 72, of Scott City died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010, at his home.

He was born Dec. 31, 1937, in Cape Girardeau, son of William G. and Theresa Blaylock Randol. He and Ruth Garrison were married Feb. 25, 1956, in Jackson.

Randol was a conductor with Union Pacific Railroad 33 years. He worked in maintenance at Eagle Ridge Christian School, where he also volunteered many hours. He was a member of Rock of Cape Church.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Randol of Scott City; two sons, Kirk (Michelle) Randol of Happy Valley, Ore., David (Annette) Randol of Scott City; two daughters, Deborah (Mark) Carbaugh of Jackson, Elizabeth Glastetter of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Billie June Beddow of Brownsburg, Ind.; six grandchildren, Josh Carbaugh, Rachel Mellies, Damien and Racheal Kitchen, Connor and Ashley Randol.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Mark Carbaugh and Johnny Seabaugh officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to Eagle Ridge Christian School.
