Ressel, Alice Alma (nee Glastetter)

KELSO, Mo. -- Alice Alma Ressel, 79, of Kelso died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born June 17, 1931, to Edward "Shorty" and Coletta Glaus Glastetter in New Hamburg, Mo. She married Lucas John Ressel May 30, 1952, in New Hamburg.

Ressel was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, St. Ann's Sodality, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary 6420 and VFW Ladies Auxiliary 6407. She had worked for VNA. She enjoyed playing Euchre and working KC fish fries.

She is survived by her husband; eight sons, Bradley (Sandy) Ressel, Jeffrey (Amy) Ressel and Douglas (Karen) Ressel, all of Scott City, Patrick (Cheryl) Ressel, Dennis (Brenda) Ressel, Brian (Connie) Ressel, Craig (Alison) Ressel of Kelso, Kevin (Yvonne) Ressel of Nesbit, Miss.; five daughters, Diane (Kenny) Page, Elaine (Tracy) Estes, Sharon (Wesley) Uhrhan, Vickie (Curtis) Hall, all of Scott City, and Linda (Jim) Wade of Benton, Mo.

Also grandchildren and their children, Jason (Kelly) Ressel, Lexi and Halle; Matthew (Kyla) Ressel and Ella Mae; Christie (Andy) Rodgers, Lauren, Andrew and Eli; Amy (Stephen) O'Brien, Landon and Avarie; Jennifer (Norman) Brant; Pamela (Johnny) Carter and Reese; Wesley (Allison) Page and Claire; Cody Page; Jeremy (Tara) Wade, Kate and Luke; Wendy (Chris) Holt, Nick and Kaylie; Travis (Jenny) Estes and Carlie; Trenton Estes; Ryan (Stephanie) Ellinger, Cole, Aubrey and Grace; Jacob Ressel; Megan (Ben) Sample; Lori (Wes) Short; Eric Uhrhan; Josh, Derek, Madelyn and Colin Ressel; Curtis, Clayton, Macy and Marisa Hall; Caleb and Hannah Ressel; Tyler and Emma Ressel; Lindsey, Alex and Harley Ressel.

Also stepgrandchildren and their children, Chris Davis and Creed; Kylie Laxton; Taylor Laxton and Zahara; a sister, Marcella (Arnold) Kapfer of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Roy Glastetter of Cape Girardeau and Gary Glastetter of Chaffee, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Clyde Glastetter; a grandchild; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at St. Augustine Church. Parish prayers will be at 7, followed by Knights of Columbus service.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Oliver Clavin as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Augustine Cemetery.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City is in charge of arrangements.
