CROSSTOWN, Mo. -- Vernon E. Rhyne, 84, of Crosstown died Saturday, July 17, at his residence.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 6:30 to 9:15 a.m. Tuesday.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. James Catholic Church in Crosstown, with the Rev. John Gagnepain officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

A funeral will be held Tuesday, July 20th for 84-year-old Vernon E. Rhyne of Crosstown who died July 17, 2010 at his residence.

He was born in East Perry County on September 14, 1925 the son of John E. and Ruth (Louveau) Rhyne who both preceded him in death.

He married Ivalene J. Farrar on June 7, 1952. She preceded him in death March 31, 2005.

He is survived by three sons: Dale Rhyne of Crosstown, Dwain (Carol) Rhyne of Crosstown and Kevin Rhyne of Crosstown; three sisters: Laverne Clifton of Perryville, Darlene Noe of Red Bud, Illinois and Jeanette DeRoussee of Energy, Illinois, a half sister: Juanita Bova of Ste. Genevieve; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Donavan Rhyne; a daughter in law: Karen Rhyne; a brother: Glennon Rhyne; a half brother: Ardell LaFloure; a sister: Violet Derry; and three half sisters: Frances Engert, Jewel Carr and Elenore Franklin.

He was a farmer and a member of St. James Catholic Church in Crosstown and a US Army World War II veteran.

Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Monday, July 19th and 6:30-9:15 a.m. Tuesday, July 20th at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. A Catholic wake will be held Monday at 8 p.m.

A funeral mass for 84-year-old Vernon E. Rhyne of Crosstown will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 20th at St. James Catholic Church in Crosstown. The Rev. John Gagnepain will officiate.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials are preferred for family use.
