Rice, Rose Anna Harris (nee Yount)
Rose Anna Rice, 92, died on Monday, Sept. 1, 2014, in Beth Sholom Nursing Facility.
Originally from Missouri, she moved to Virginia in the 1930's. The daughter of the late Willliam and Mamie Yount, she was a long-time member of Oaklette United Methodist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Chester Rice.
Left to cherish Rose's memory are her son, David W. Harris; sister, Lilly Early; sister-in-law, Evelyn Yount; two grandsons, David W. Harris, II (Woody) and Derek W. Harris; six great grandchildren, Courtney, Dylan, Nahla, Allessandro, Matteo and David, III; former daughter-in-law, Roxie; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Oaklette United Methodist Church.

Rose was born January 19, 1922, and married on Oct 5 1941 to Woodard R Harris who died Jul 12 1943 (WW II). She married again on January 18, 1953 to Charles Chester Rice who died in May 30 1989.
