Richardet, Rose Irma "Tootie" (nee Schloss)

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Rose Irma "Tootie" Richardet, 84, of Perryville died Monday, May 12, 2014, at her home.

She was born Jan. 10, 1930, in Belgique, Missouri, daughter of Louis and Louisa Ernst Schloss. She and Ralph Richardet were married May 16, 1953. He preceded her in death Oct. 11, 1982.

Tootie had been a sales clerk in the ladies department at Rozier's and a waitress at Intersection Restaurant. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Adoration Hour, Ladies Sodality, VFW Post 4282 Auxiliary, American Legion Post 133 Auxiliary and Red Hat Ladies Society.

She loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. Her specialties were coffeecake and dumplings. She spent much of her time visiting people at nursing homes and the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau. She delivered milkshakes and cheeseburgers to workers in the hayfields and was a huge Cardinals baseball fan. She loved watching her grandchildren play sports, music and spending time with them.

Survivors include four sons, Randy (Tammy) Richardet and Rodney (Mary Beth) Richardet of Perryville, Rick Richardet of Sedgewickville, Missouri, and Lynn Richardet of Perryville; a daughter, Cindy (Joe) Huber of Perryville; and a sister, Norma Lee Vernon of Perryville.

Also 13 grandchildren, Adam (Jessie) Richardet, Brett Richardet and special friend Krista Engar, Will Richardet, Drew (Steph) Richardet, Dominic (Megan) Richardet, Jacqueline Richardet, Amanda (Chad) Winkler, Megan Richardet and special friend Bernie Riehn, Waylon Richardet, Jesse (Laura) Richardet, Justus Richardet, Makayla Huber and Grant Huber; and seven great-grandchildren, Naomi, Augusta, Bristol, Knox, Wyatt, Olivia and Audrey Mae.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; five brothers, Eldred, Melbern, Flavian "Billy", Merlin and Robert; and two sisters, Catherine Buerck and Marveline Schumer.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 6:30 a.m. until time of service Friday at St. Vincent de Paul Church. The parish wake will be at 4:30 p.m., VFW Auxiliary wake at 6 p.m., and American Legion Auxiliary wake at 6:15 p.m. Thursday.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau or St. Vincent Schools.

Young and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
