Rodewald, Bernadine (nee Lindwedel)
CAMPBELL HILL - Bernadine Rodewald, 84, of Campbell Hill, passed away at 6:25 am, Thursday, January 10, 2013 at the Chester Rehab & Nursing Center, Chester, IL.
Bernadine was born in Randolph County, IL on October 24, 1928, the daughter of Henry and Dora Beckman Lindwedel. She married Everet Rodewald on January 31, 1953 at Zion Lutheran Church in Walsh. Bernadine was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, West Point and the Immanuel Lutheran Ladies Aid. She was a homemaker.
Bernadine is survived by her husband, Everet Rodewald; children, Neil (Marsha) Rodewald of Ava, Vickey (Scott) Sternberg of Steeleville and Rhonda (Doug) Eggers of Percy; seven grandchildren, Amy Smith, Bradley Rodewald, Bryan Rodewald, Christopher Sternberg, Brandon Sternberg, Joel Eggers and Jessica Eggers; four great grandchildren, Trent and Macy Sternberg, Hayden Sternberg, and Ania Smith; one sister, Oneida Eggemeyer of Steeleville; and one step brother, Raymond Abert of Edwardsville, IL.
Bernadine was preceded in death by one brother, August Lindwedel; and two sisters, Laverne Eggemeyer and Dorothy Liefer.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, January 12, 2013at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, West Point with Rev. Tim B. Zechiel officiating. Burial will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, West Point. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Friday and on Saturday at the church from 9 am until 10 am. Memorials may be given to the Immanuel Lutheran Building Fund or the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery Fund.
