Rose, Lois Roberta (nee Mize)

Lois Roberta Rose, 82, of Jackson was called home Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Nov. 17, 1932, at Morley, Missouri, to Ernest and Lena Murphy Mize. She and Jerry Rose were married July 4, 1952, in Hernando, Mississippi.

Lois graduated from Central High School in 1950 and was a graduate of Barnes-Jewish School of Nursing in St. Louis. She was active with River City Quilt Guild and Arthritis Exercise Program at the senior center. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and her hummingbirds.

She leaves behind her husband of 62 years, Jerry Rose; two daughters, Roberta Rose (James Stevens) of St. Louis, Elizabeth Roy of the home; a brother, Charlie Mize (Lee) of Panama City, Florida; two grandsons, Kyle Pender (Whitney) of Patton, Missouri, and Tim Roy (Tracy) of McClure, Illinois; and four great-grandchildren, Kody, Cannon, Gabriella and Jaxon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the Barnes-Jewish School of Nursing Scholarship Fund.
