Roy, Gladys E. (nee Schemel)
Funeral service will be held Monday, Oct. 23, 2000 for 67-year-old Gladys E.(Schemel) Roy of Perryville who died Thursday, Oct. 19 at Missouri Baptist Hospital.
She was born on March 25, 1933 in Biehle, the daughter of the late Arthur and Bertha (Berkbigler) Schemel.
She was married to Robert L. Roy. He preceded her in death.
Children surviving are Mark Roy, Keith Roy, Aaron Roy and Robyn Duvall, all of Perryville; and Dean Roy of Chicago, Ill.
Four sisters and two brothers survive, Dorothy Zotta of St. Louis; Bea Schlimgen of Casa Grande, Ariz.; Allie Kohl of San Diego, Cal.; Zelma Zoellner of Arnold; Richard Schemel Sr. of Perryville; and Kevin Schemel of Perryville.
Ten grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne and Melvin; and one grandson, Benjamin.
She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and K of C Ladies Auxiliary.
Visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 22 from 4-9 p.m. and on Monday, Oct. 23 from 6:30-9:40 a.m. at Young and Sons Chapel. A Catholic wake will be Sunday at 7 p.m.. The rosary will be recited Monday at 8:30 a.m.
Funeral Mass for Gladys E. (Schemel) Roy will be held Monday, Oct. 23 at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Kevin Fausz CM will officiate. Burial in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Memorial preference is to St. Vincent de Paul Church of school or your own choice.
