Ruch, Rita Clara Newell (nee Gibbar)

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Clara Rita Ruch, 92, of Perryville died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at her home.

She was born Aug. 14, 1921, in Perry County, to William N. and Mary A. Layton Gibbar. She married Clarence "Jim" Ruch.

Clara was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church at Silver Lake, Mo. She had worked at International Shoe Co.

Survivors include two sons, Donald Newell of Conway, Ark., and Richard Ruch of Perryville; 10 grandchildren, Robert (Christie) Newell, David (Mary) Newell, Susan (R.M.) Stelling, Allen Newell, Sharon Newell, Dean (Angie) Newell, Debbi (Tom) Schumer, Jennifer (Shannon) Kirchhoff, Rick (Tracy) Ruch and Michelle Ruch; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; five brothers, Lester, Earl, Francis, Glennon and Clarence Gibbar; two sisters, Evelyn Vaughn and Gladys Vaughn; and a son, Lonnie "Silver" Newell.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Miller Family Funeral Home.

Funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Rose of Lima Church, with the Rev. Milton Ryan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to masses.

A funeral will be held Wednesday for 92-year-old Clara Rita Ruch of Perryville, who died September 7, 2013 at her home.

She was born August 14, 1921 in Perry County, the daughter of William N. Gibbar and Mary A. Layton Gibbar, who both preceded her in death.

She married Clarence "Jim" Ruch. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by two sons: Donald Newell of Conway, Arkansas and Richard Ruch of Perryville; 10 grandchildren: Robert (Christie) Newell, David (Mary) Newell’ Susan (RM) Stelling, Allen Newell, Sharon Newell, Dean (Angie) Newell, Debbi (Tom) Schumer, Jennifer (Shannon) Kirchhoff, Rick (Tracy) Ruch and Michelle Ruch; 17 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by five brothers: Lester, Earl, Francis, Glennon and Clarence Gibbar; two sisters: Evelyn Vaughn and Gladys Vaughn and a son: Lonnie’Silver" Newell.

She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church-Silver Lake.

She had worked at International Shoe Company.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 10 from 5-9 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 11 at the Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville.

A funeral mass for 92-year-old Clara Rita Ruch of Perryville will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 10 at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Silver Lake. The Rev. Milton Ryan, CM will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to masses.
