Ruehling, Erlis V.
FROHNA, Mo. -- Erlis V. Ruehling, 73, of Frohna died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at his home.
He was born Feb. 8, 1941, in Cape Girardeau, son of Eldor Ruehling and Mildred Hesse Ruehling Ladreiter. He and Carole Mueller were married April 25, 1964, in Klinger, Iowa. She survives in Frohna.
Erlis was a lineman for Citizens Electric. He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, veteran of the U.S. Army, past Sunday school superintendent, avid river fisherman and gardener, and a former member of AMVETS and the American Legion.
Other survivors include a son, Jody Ruehling and fiancee Wendy Humerickhouse of Murphysboro, Illinois; a daughter, Stephanie (Terry) Bryan of Cape Girardeau; and two grandsons, Wyatt Ruehling and Bo Bryan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Dorothy Hecht; and one brother, Donald Ruehling.
Visitation will be from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and from 6:30 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at Concordia Lutheran Church in Frohna.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Rod Benkendorf officiating. Burial in the church cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to United in Christ Lutheran School in Frohna.
