Ruesler, Olga B. (nee Best)

Olga B. Ruesler, 93, of Cape Girardeau, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2012, at her home.

She was born October 7, 1918, in Tilsit, to Martin and Alma Siebert Best. She and Harry D. Ruesler were married September 27, 1947, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.

During World War II, Olga and some of her friends traveled to the Detroit area where they all worked in factories to support the war effort. Some years later, she was employed as a seamstress, making custom draperies at Rust and Martin in Cape Girardeau.

Olga was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilsit. She had been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau since her marriage to Harry, and was also a member of the Ladies Sr. Aid group.

She enjoyed baking, gardening, and needlepoint.

Survivors include two sons, Gerald Ruesler of Cape Girardeau and Michael (Linda) Ruesler of O’Fallon, Mo.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Kay Ruesler (May 12, 1998); and a sister, Laurine Dost.

Friends may call Tuesday, August 14, 2012, from 9:30 AM to time of service, at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral service will be at 11 AM, Tuesday, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Nathan Burgell officiating.

Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau. Memorials may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.
