Sauer, Bernard O.
Bernard O. Sauer, 79, Festus, died Jan. 29, 2008, at Delmar Gardens South. He was born June 14, 1928, in Apple Creek, the son of Otto and Caroline (Welker) Sauer.
He was a machinist for River Cement and was a member and past president of the United Lime and Gypsum Workers. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea and was a member of Festus VFW.
He is survived by two daughters, Cathy (Keith) Davis of Plano, Texas, and Betsy Sauer of Festus; five sons, Bob Sauer of St. Louis County, Evan Sauer of Creve Coeur, David (Judy) Sauer of Oakville, Joe (Tina) Sauer of De Soto, Jim (Vhine) Sauer of Delaware; and five grandchildren, Melissa Gladback, Elizabeth and Jonathan Davis, Katie and Jennifer Sauer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian (Grieshaber) Sauer; his parents; and two brothers, Albin and Joseph Sauer.
Funeral was Feb. 1 from Vinyard Funeral Home, Festus, to Sacred Heart Church, with the Rev. Peter Blake officiating. Interment is in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
