PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Elvira A. Schamburg, 90, of Perryville died Sunday, April 5, 2009, at her home.

She was born Dec. 1, 1918, in Highland, Mo., daughter of John F. and Mamie Lukefahr Renaud. She and Hubert A. Schamburg were married Dec. 1, 1943. He died May 12, 1998.

Schamburg was a retired seamstress for Ollie Moore's Dress Factory. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella and Ladies Garment Workers Union.

Survivors include five sons, John Schaumburg of Festus, Mo., Harvey Schaumburg, Ralph Schaumburg, Dale Schaumburg and David Schaumburg, all of Perryville; two daughters, Joyce Zahner and Doris Mattingly, both of Perryville; 17 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and a sister.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday with a wake at 7:45 p.m. and from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday with a rosary at 8:30 a.m. at Young and Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral is at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, with the Rev. Milton Ryan officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

A funeral will be held Wednesday, April 8th, 2009 for 90-year-old Elvira A. Schamburg of Perryville who died Sunday, April 5, 2009 at her residence.

She was born December 1, 1918 in Highland, daughter of the late John F and Mamie (Lukefahr) Renaud.

She married Hubert A. Schamburg December 1, 1943. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by five sons, John (Joyce) Schamburg of Festus, Harvey (Alice) Schamburg, Ralph (Vicki) Schamburg, Dale (Pat) Schamburg and David Schamburg all of Perryville; two daughters, Joyce (Joe) Zahner and Doris (Tom) Mattingly both Perryville; 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Dewey, Lenas, and Eugene Renaud, a sister Mary Luella McCoy and a grandson, Jason Schamburg.

She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella and Ladies Garment Workers Union.

She was a retired seamstress for Ollie Moore’s Dress Factory and a homemaker.

Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Tuesday, April 7th and 6:30-9:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 8th at Young & Sons Chapel in Perryville. Parish wake will be held on Tuesday evening at 7:45 p.m. and Rosary will be recited on Wednesday morning at 8:30 a.m.

A funeral for 90-year-old Elvira A. Schamburg of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 8th at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Rick Valleroy will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Southeast Hospice.
