PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Dorothy R. Schindler, 88, of Perryville died Sunday, June 24, 2012, at Independence Care Center in Perryville.

She was born Oct. 31, 1923, in Perryville, daughter of Hubert and Ida Mertz Schindler.

Dorothy worked at International Shoe Co., Johnny Bishop Poultry, and Biltbest in Ste. Genevieve, Mo., before retiring. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

Survivors include a son, Larry (Kay) Schindler of Perryville; three grandchildren, Doug and Chris Schindler, Nicole Bilek; five great-grandchildren, Kylie and Hunter Bilek, Addison, Maysa and Holden Schindler.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Hubert, Les and Don Schindler; and two sisters, Ruth Elder and Aleen Hoehn.

A memorial Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Vincent's Church, with the Rev. Milton Ryan officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Miller Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials preferred to family choice.

A funeral will be held Thursday, June 28th, 2012 for 88-year-old Dorothy R. Schindler of Perryville who died Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Independence Care Center in Perryville.

She was born October 31, 1923 in Perryville, the daughter of Hubert and Ida (Mertz) Schindler who both preceded her in death.

She is survived by one son: Larry (Kay) Schindler of Perryville; three grandchildren: Doug Schindler, Chris Schindler and Nicole Bilek; and five great grandchildren: Kylie and Hunter Bilek, and Addison, Maysa, and Holden Schindler.

She worked for International Shoe Company, Johnny Bishop Poultry and Biltbest in Ste. Genevieve before retiring.

She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

A memorial Mass for 88-year-old Dorothy R. Schindler of Perryville will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 28 at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville.

The Rev. Milton Ryan, CM will officiate.

Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
