Schlimme, Lloyd M.
Lloyd M. Schlimme, age 90 of Cape Girardeau, passed away Friday, March 20, 2015 at Missouri Veterans Home. He was born March 19, 1925 son of Louis and Emma Grebe Schlimme. He and Freida Cobb were married September 21, 1946.
Lloyd was a member of Zion UMC near Gordonville. He served in the US Army during WW II and was a member of American Legion. He worked 37 years at the former Marquette Cement Co in Cape Girardeau. He dedicated his life to his family and enjoyed gardening.
He is survived by 3 sons, Michael and Kenneth Schlimme of Cape Girardeau, John (Connie) Schlimme of Raleigh, NC; a daughter, Mary (Wes) Scaggs of Paducah, KY; 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Freida; a son, Roger Schlimme; 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
Visitation will be 4-8 pm Saturday at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. The funeral service will be 2 pm Sunday at the funeral home with Rev Joel Kidwell officiating. Burial will follow in Zion UMC Cemetery near Gordonville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Zion UMC.
