A funeral was held today, Monday, August 2nd, 2004 for 61-year-old Oliver "Ollie" Schlimpert of Altenburg, who died Friday, July 30th at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born October 9th, 1942 in Altenburg, the son of Oscar and Lorna (Schmidt) Schlimpert, who both preceded him in death.

He married Kathleen Zoellner on November 25th, 1967. She survives in Altenburg.

Survivors also include: four daughters and sons in law, Becky and Stuart Ruehling of Frohna, Kim and Mike Ponder of Altenburg, Jennifer and Stan Hadler of Altenburg and Lori and Trent Bronenkant of Altenburg; one brother, Milton Schlimpert of Altenburg; three sisters, Marie Mohme of Florissant, Carolyn Schlimpert of St. Louis and Audrey Schubert of Jackson; 10 grandchildren, Nichole, Rachel, Shane and Ross Hadler, Carly and Leah Bronenkant, Zachary and Abby Ruehling and Luke and Pia Ponder; and his father in law, Albert Zoellner of Altenburg.

He was also preceded in death by three infant brothers.

He was a farmer and was retired from East Perry Lumber Supply.

He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Past President and Vice President of East Perry Community Fair Association, Superintendent of Mule Jump, member of Athletic Association and avid softball player and member of the Dart Ball League, all in Altenburg.

A funeral for 61-year-old Oliver "Ollie" Schlimpert of Altenburg was held at 10 a.m. today, Monday, August 2nd at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg. Burial was in the church cemetery. The Rev. Ronald Paseur officiated.

Memorials may be made to the Concordia Trinity Lutheran School Pre-School or to the Relay for Life "Team Ollie".
