Schnurbusch, Jerome Theodore

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Jerome T. Schnurbusch, 83, of Perryville died April 15, 2011, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 13, 1927, in Apple Creek, Mo., son of the late Theodore and Regina Wibbenmeyer Schnurbusch. He and Virginia Linebarger were married April 26, 1952. She survives in Perryville.

Mr. Schnurbusch was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service and previously worked for Miner's Lumber Co. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Holy Name Society and was a member of, past commander and finance officer of American Legion Post 133 and Knights of Columbus Council No. 1263, 4th degree in Perryville.

Other survivors include two sons, Steven (Elizabeth) Schnurbusch of Orange, Calif., and Larry (Tawny) Schnurbusch of Centennial, Colo.; two daughters, Patricia (Joseph) Perna of Phoenix, and Nancy (Douglas) McMillian of Perryville; two sisters, Bernice French of Perryville and Mary Jean (John) Kertz of Bloomsdale, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Kay Schnurbusch; eight grandchildren, Amy and Ellen Schnurbusch, Brian and Justin Schnurbusch, Scott and Neal Fausz, Melissa Ogle and Jason McMillian; a stepgranddaughter, Madison Heidemann; four great-grandchildren, Dakota and Macy Ogle, and Connor and Cooper McMillian; and two great-stepgranddaughters, Josie and Kaylee Palacios.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Alvin and LeRoy Schnurbusch.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville, with American Legion wake at 7 and parish wake at 7:30, and from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Revs. Milton Ryan and Jerome Fortenberry concelebrating.

Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery, with military burial rites by American Legion Post 133 and Missouri Delta Team.

Memorials are preferred to Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau or Southeast Hospice.
