Schreiner, Kenneth Walter

Kenneth Walter Schreiner, 85, of Marble Hill, Mo., passed away on Friday, July 10, 2009, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 10, 1923, in Marble Hill, son of Charles F. and Audrey Sadler Schreiner. He and Wilma Burk were married March 6, 1943, in Jackson. She survives.

Kenneth owned and operated Schreiner Farm Equipment Co. in Marble Hill from 1950 to 1973. He opened another John Deere sales and service company in West Plains, Mo., from 1974 to 1977. From 1977 until his retirement in 1985, he worked for the Veterans Administration in Columbia, Mo.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific Theater, a 32nd Degree Mason with Trowel Lodge 440, and a member of the Shriner's Club and the Scottish Rite Temple.

He was a member of Marble Hill First United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Michaelyn Dalton of Granbury, Texas, and Kenna Lutes of Marble Hill; a son, Jeff Burk of St. Louis; two sisters, Delores Miller of Marble Hill and Annalee Anderson of North Carolina; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill. A Masonic service will be conducted at 6 p.m.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Michael Lockhart officiating. Burial will be in Hahn Chapel Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
