Schreiner, Wilma Imogene (nee Burk)

Wilma Imogene Schreiner, 89, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Marble Hill, Mo., passed away Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, at the Lutheran Home where she resided the past two years.

Born on Nov. 1, 1924, near Grassy, Mo., she was the daughter of Willard V. and Bessie Abernathy Burk. She married Kenneth W. Schreiner on March 6, 1941, in Jackson. He preceded her in death July 10, 2009.

After working at various factory jobs, Wilma returned to school and graduated at the top of her class with an LPN degree. She retired after working at the Harry S. Truman Medical Center in Columbia, Mo. She was a member of the Marble Hill United Methodist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Michaelyn Dalton of Granbury, Texas, and Kenna Lutes of Marble Hill; a son, Jeff Burk of St. Louis; a brother, Joe Burk; a sister, Virginia Smith; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill.

The funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Michael Hargraves officiating. Burial will follow in Hahn Chapel Cemetery near Marble Hill.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Marble Hill United Methodist Church.
