Schumer, Marveline Ann (nee Schloss)

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Marveline A. Schumer, 81, of Perryville died Thursday, March 21, 2013, at Independence Care Center.

She was born July 15, 1931, at Belgique, Mo., to Louis W. and Louisa Ernst Schloss.

Marveline retired from Rozier's Foodliner. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, the Ladies Sodality, the Ministry of Praise, Perpetual Adoration and the Grocery Workers' local union.

She is survived by her husband, Leon Schumer of Perryville; six children, Bonnie (Jim) Guyot of Perryville, Gail (Eric) Hankins of Cincinnati, Rocky (Laura) Schumer of Perryville, Kim (the late Terry) Finger of Perryville, Jan (Bob) Grogg of St. Mary, Mo., and Kip (Alisa) Schumer of Perryville; two sisters, Rose Irma "Tootie" Richardet and Norma Vernon, both of Perryville; 18 grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Eldred, Melbern, Flavian William, Merlin and Robert; and one sister, Catherine Buerck.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 1:20 p.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m. today with the Ladies Sodality.

Funeral Mass will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Milton Ryan, CM, officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to St. Vincent Schools General Fund or Southeast Hospice.

Miller Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A funeral will be held Monday, March 25, 2013 for 81-year-old Marveline A. Schumer of Perryville who died March 21, 2013 at Independence Care Center in Perryville.

She was born July 15, 1931 in Belgique, the daughter of Louis W. and Louisa Ernst Schloss who both preceded her in death.

She married Leon Schumer. He survives in Perryville.

She is also survived by six children: Bonnie (Jim) Guyot of Perryville, Gail (Eric) Hankins of Cincinnati, Ohio, Rocky (Laura) Schumer of Perryville, Kim and (the late Terry) Finger of Perryville, Jan (Bob) Grogg of St. Mary and Kip (Alisa) Schumer of Perryville; two Sisters: Rose Irma "Tootie" Richardet of Perryville and Norma Vernon of Perryville; 18 grandchildren and nine great greatgrandchildren

She was also preceded in death by five brothers: Eldred, Melbern, Flavian William, Merlin and Robert and a sister: Catherine Buerck

She was retired from Rozier’s Foodliner.

She was a member of St.Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, the Ladies Sodality, the Ministry of Praise, Perpetual Adoration, and the grocery workers’ local union.

Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2013 and 9 a.m. to 1:20 p.m. Monday, March 25 in the Gathering Space at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville.

Parish prayers at 7 p.m. Sunday with the Ladies Sodality.

A funeral mass for 81-year-old Marveline A. Schumer of Perryville will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 25th at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. The Rev. Milton Ryan, CM will officiate.

Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Vincent Schools General Fund or to Southeast Hospice.
