Seabaugh, Cora Mae (nee Feverston)

Cora Mae Seabaugh, 96, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, April 7, 2008, at Capetown Assisted Living.

She was born Oct. 7, 1911, in Leora, Mo., daughter of Charles and Mary George Feverston. She and Orville Reid Seabaugh were married Dec. 25, 1940, at Benton, Mo. He died May 18, 1979.

Seabaugh was a 1928 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University when it was Normal Teachers College. She was a teacher six years and was also a cashier at Missouri Brokerage.

She was the oldest living member of Grace United Methodist Church. She was a member 83 years, having joined at age 13, and was a very active volunteer at the church.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Miller of Cape Girardeau, Brenda Connelly of Hickory, N.C.; two sisters, Georgia Lewis of Florida, Mary Jo Shelton of Jackson; and five grandchildren. Her first great-grandchild is on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and two brothers.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Grace United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Scott Moon and Jerry Statler officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to FISH or UMW of Grace United Methodist Church.
