Seabaugh, Dorothy M. (nee Miller)
Dorothy M. Seabaugh, 89, of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 6, 1920, in Chaffee, Mo., daughter of Tony and Lillian Sprague Miller. She and Bert Seabaugh were married June 19, 1948, in Piggott, Ark. He passed away March 15, 1982.
Dorothy was a 1938 graduate of Chaffee High School and graduated from Cape Girardeau Beauty School in 1939. She then worked at the former International Shoe Factory in Chaffee. In 1976 she moved from the St. Louis area to Cape Girardeau.
She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, was an avid Cardinals baseball fan and, as part of a railroad family, she was a train enthusiast, but her greatest joy was caring for her family.
Dorothy was a lifelong member of First Christian Church in Chaffee.
Loving survivors include a son, Jeffery (Doris) Seabaugh of Columbia City, Indiana; two daughters, Sharon (Richard) Hogan of Cape Girardeau, Pam (Steve Delcambre) Counts of Jackson; eight grandchildren, Heather Seabaugh, Daniel (Erica) Seabaugh, Devin Seabaugh, Kimberly Hogan, Brian (Katie) Hogan, Michelle (Matthew) Burgess, Stacey Fike, and Holly Stroup; four great-grandchildren, Noah and Alexandra Hogan, Brooklynn and Caiden Burgess.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Vyron Yount officiating. Interment will follow in Fairmont Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
Memorials may be made to First Christian Church in Chaffee.
