Seabaugh, Paul Miller

Paul Miller Seabaugh, 83, of Cape Girardeau was called to his heavenly home Tuesday, April 14, 2009.

He was born Jan. 15, 1926, in Cape Girardeau, son of Jacob Franklin and Ruth Miller Seabaugh. He and Evelyn Griffin were married April 24, 1949.

Paul was a 1943 graduate of Central High School. He attended Southeast Missouri State University 1 1/2 years and later attended Steimle Business College.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean conflict.

Paul was a charter member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder, taught Sunday school and was a youth group leader. He volunteered at Missouri Veterans Home, for the Red Cross and American Cancer Society, where he was a member of the Men Battling Cancer group.

Paul was employed at Monroe Glass Co. 32 years and then at Edgewater Glass until his retirement in 2007.

Mrs. Seabaugh worked at the Southeast Missourian about 15 years in the 1940s and 1950s.

He is survived by his wife Evelyn of 60 years; two daughters, Daphna Fiehler (Michael) of Cape Girardeau, Diane Clark (David) of Park Hills, Mo; two grandsons, Andy Fiehler (Elizabeth) of Lawrenceburg, Ky., Brad Fiehler (Nicole) of Huntersville, N.C.; a great-grandson, Tucker Bradley Fiehler; a sister, Gene Snider of Webster Groves, Mo.; and many nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, LeeAnna Craft.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, with Karen Dumey officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery with military honors provided by Missouri Honors Team.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church or Southeast Hospice, 10 Doctors Park, Cape Girardeau, Mo., 63703.
