Seabaugh, Vanita Louise (nee Werner)

Vanita Louise Seabaugh, 89, of Jackson passed away Friday, May 17, 2013 at her daughter's home.

She was born Jan 31, 1924, daughter of Paul and Clara Kester Werner. She married Raymond R. Seabaugh on Aug 9, 1942. He survives.

She was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson. Vanita was a former member of Concordia Guild, Ladies Aid, Hilltoppers Square Dance Club and American Legion Auxiliary Post 3838 in Jackson. She had a passion for sewing, gardening and canning. She will be missed by the many hearts she touched.

Survivors include her husband of 71 years; three sons, Paul (Roxie) Seabaugh of Jackson, Ron (Phyllis) Seabaugh of Cape Girardeau and Jim (Susan) Seabaugh of Jackson; a daughter, Martha (Mike) Riehn of Millersville; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a brother, Vernon (LaWanda) Werner of Jackson; a sister-in-law, Geraldine Brotherton of Jackson; and a special niece, Jackie Sue Rose of St Louis.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lorene Werner and Myrlene Rose; a brother and sister-in-law, Herbert and Jane Werner; and a brother, Raymond Werner.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church.

The funeral service will follow at the church, with the Rev. Robert Henrichs officiating.

Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, St Paul Lutheran School, Southeast Hospice or Saxony Lutheran High School.
