Seabaugh, William Bollinger

SIKESTON, Mo. -- William B. Seabaugh, 93, of Sikeston died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born Nov. 15, 1910, in Patton, Mo., the son of Garrett and Emma Bollinger Seabaugh. He married Wanda Elizabeth Blunt in Poplar Bluff, Mo., on Nov. 10, 1937. She preceded him in death on May 17, 1994.

He served in the Home Guard during World War II and was a member of the First United Methodist Church for more than 50 years. He was a former member and past president of the Sikeston Jaycees and was active in the Boy Scouts of America as a scoutmaster in the Okeechobee District. He worked for Sherman-Williams Paint Company for 25 years. He also was a member of the Oran 25 Club.

He is survived by two daughters, Martha Winthrop of Percy, Ill., and Marian Green of Cape Giradeau; two brothers, John Seabaugh of Millersville, Mo., and Bob Seabaugh of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Ruth Schlegel of Gordonville; two granddaughters and one great-granddaughter.

He also was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, a brother and four sisters.

Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the chapel with the Rev. Harold Norton, associate pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial will be at Garden of Memories Cemetery.

SIKESTON - William B. Seabaugh, 93, died at 3:23 a.m. Dec. 31, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Born Nov. 15, 1910, in Patton, son of the late Garrett and Emma Bollinger Seabaugh, he served in the Home guard during World War II. A 50-year member of the First United Methodist Church, he was a former member and past president of the Sikeston Jaycees. He had served as a scoutmaster for the Okeechobee District Boy Scouts of America, was an avid fisherman, a member of the Oran 25 Club and worked for Sherman-Williams Paint Co. for 25 years.

On Nov. 10, 1937, at Poplar Bluff, he married Wanda Elizabeth Blunt who preceded him in death on May 17, 1994.

Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Martha and John Winthrop of Percy, Ill., and Marian and Bill Green of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, John Seabaugh of Millersville and Bob Seabaugh of Cape Girardeau; one sister, Ruth Schlegel of Gordonville; two granddaughters, Beth Shaw of Portolo Valley, Calif., and Elizabeth Greenwood of Doniphan; and one great-granddaughter, Cameron Shaw of Portolo Valley.

Also preceding him in death were one daughter, Margaret Seabaugh on June 25, 1984; and one brother and four sisters.

Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until service time at 10:30 a.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Harold Norton, associate pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.

Pallbearers will be: John Seabaugh, Bob Seabaugh, Beth Shaw, Elizabeth Greenwood, Bill Green and John Winthrop.
