APPLE CREEK, Mo. -- Marvin J. Seiler, 81, of Apple Creek died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 17, 1931, in Leopold, Mo., son of John F. and Mary Rose VanGennip Seiler. He and Anna Marie Weissmueller were married April 7, 1956, in Kelso, Mo. She preceded him in death Sept. 2, 2005.

Seiler retired from Missouri Pacific Railroad where he was a truck driver/maintenance worker. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Apple Creek and Missouri Pacific Railroad Union.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include three sons and two daughters, Richard (Shelly) Seiler of Seattle, Ron Seiler of St. Louis, Phyllis (Chris) Fabrizi of Festus, Mo., Gail Seiler of Biehle, Mo., and Roger (Laura) Seiler of St. Louis; a sister, Julie Christy of O'Fallon, Mo.; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and 6:30 to 9:15 a.m. Saturday at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville, Mo. A Catholic wake will be at 4:30 p.m. Friday.

A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Church, with the Rev. Tony Dattilo officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, with military graveside service provided by American Legion Post 133 and the Air Force.

Memorials are preferred to breast cancer research or Missouri Veterans Home.

Marvin J. Seiler, 81, of Apple Creek, MO died February 26, 2013 at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born on July 17, 1931 in Leopold, MO, son of John F. and Mary Rose (Van Gennip) Seiler. He and Anna Marie Weissmueller were married on April 7, 1956 in Kelso, MO. She preceded him in death on September 2, 2005.

Mr. Seiler retired from Missouri Pacific Railroad where he was a truck driver/maintenance worker. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Apple Creek, US Air Force Veteran and Missouri Pacific Railroad Union.

Other survivors include three sons and two daughters; Richard (Shelly) Seiler of Seattle, WA, Ron Seiler of St. Louis, Phyllis (Chris) Fabrizi of Festus, Gail Seiler of Biehle, Roger (Laura) Seiler of St. Louis, one sister; Julie Christy of O’Fallon and six grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Young & Sons Funeral Home on Friday, March 1 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm with a Catholic Wake at 4:30 pm. Visitation will continue on Saturday, March 2nd from 6:30 to 9:15 am.

Funeral Mass for Marvin J. Seiler will be held on Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Apple Creek at 10:00 am with the Rev. Tony Dattilo officiating.

Burial will follow in the St. Michael Cemetery. Military graveside honors will be provided by American Legion Post 133 and the Air Force.
