She was born Nov. 25, 1904, in Hornersville, and was a member of Whitaker Chapel General Baptist Church.  She was married to George William "Bill" Shepard on Nov. 1, 1924, in Piggott.  He died on April 27, 1955.

Survivors include four sons, George Edward Shepard of Kennett, William Frederick Shepard and Howard Shepard, both of Flint, Mich., and Wendell Shepard of Campbell; one daughter Doris Abernathy of Sikeston; two sisters, Opal Southers of Bangor, Mich., and Ellie Moore of Campbell; one brother, Luther Hanners of Bangor; 17 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Landess Funeral Home in Campbell.  The Rev. Alpha C. Warren will officiate, with burial in Mount Gilead Cemetery in Clarton.   Visitation begins at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
