A funeral will be held Thursday, January 9, 2014 for 68-year-old Kelly P. Short Sr. of Perryville who died January 6, 2014 at his residence.
He was born December 19, 1945 in Perry County, the son of Robert Short and Marion L. (Zahner) Short Porter who both preceded him in death.
He married Jane Ellen Koenig October 2, 1965. She survives in Perryville.
He is also survived by a daughter: Kristine (Mel) Dockins of Cape Girardeau; a son Kelly Paul (Lara) Short Jr. of O’Fallon; six grandchildren: Megan and Melanie Dockins, Erika Domzalski, Dalton, Cameron and Brodie Short; and one great-grandson, Cooper Ray Dockins.
He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Uniontown and actively participated in Wednesday Bible Class, the men’s dartball team and he volunteered each summer at Vacation Bible School
He enjoyed gardening and working around the yard in the summer and was member of the Perryville Garden Club.
He was a U.S. Army National Guard veteran.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 8 and 6:30-8 a.m. Thursday, January 9 at the Young & Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.
A funeral for 68-year-old Kelly P. Short Sr. of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 9, 2014 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Uniontown. The Rev. Paul Winningham will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to Saxony Lutheran High School

Paul Winningham officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
