Memorial services for Jacob Shrum will be held Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Almost Home Family Worship.  Burial will be in the Plainview Cemetery in Marble Hill, Mo., at a later date.  Cremation was under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.

Jacob “Jake” Craddoc Shrum, son of the late Jesse E. and Frances C. (Black) Shrum, was born  Aug. 14, 1939, at Scopus, Mo., and departed this life Jan. 18, 2013, at the Hartville Care Center of Hartville, Mo.  He was 73 years of age.

Jake lived most all his life in Cape and Bollinger Counties before moving to Norwood and later Mountain Grove where he owned and operated Shrum’s Lawn Service. He was a member of the Victory Hill Church of Norwood.

Besides his parents, Jake was preceded in death by one sister, Katherine Hammer.

Jake is survived by his brothers Bill Shrum and Jim Shrum, both Cape Girardeau, and Sam Shrum, Jackson; sisters Anna Korzen, Coroapolis, Pa., Lola Urhahn, Oran, Mo., Jean Gilliland, of Jackson, and Joy Baker, of Jackson; brother-in-law Virgil Hammer, Festus; many other relatives and friends who will miss him.
