Sides, Mildred Lorene (nee Hodge)
Mildred Lorene Sides, 94, formerly of Jackson, passed away Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Aug. 7, 1920, in Leemon, Missouri, to John William and Emma Nora Garner Hodge. She and Chester "Tag" Lawrence Sides were married June 20, 1942. He passed away June 26, 1985.
She attended Zion United Methodist Church in Gordonville. She was a mother to her children, grandchildren and many neighborhood children.
Loving survivors include two granddaughters, Kimberly (Terry) Ahrens of Millersville and Jamie (Chip) Sepulvado of Dexter, Missouri; her great-grandchildren, Crystal, Grace, John and Selah; and one son-in-law, Jim Becker of Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert Sides; a daughter, Judy Becker; three brothers; and three sisters.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joel Kidwell officiating. Interment will be in Apple Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery near Pocahontas.
Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Apple Creek Cemetery Fund.
