Sifford, Winnis Lee (nee Hinkle)
GRASSY, Mo. -- Winnis Lee Sifford, 66, of Grassy passed away Monday, April 21, 2014, at home surrounded by her family.
She was born June 26, 1947, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of the late Ernest and Grace Umfleet Hinkle. She and Don Sifford were married in 1992. He preceded her in death May 15, 2013.
Winnis was a veteran of the U.S. Navy Reserve.
She worked many years as secretary to the principal at Advance High School. She attended Advance First Baptist Church and was a member of Advance Eagles Club.
Survivors include two sons, Owen (Carrie) Stephens of Burke, Va., and Doug Stephens of Arkansas; two daughters, Mellisa (Richard) Burgess of California, Md., and Amanda Sifford of Destrehan, La.; two brothers, Charles Hinkle of St. Peters, Mo., and Sonny Hinkle of O'Fallon, Mo.; two sisters, Shelba Leadbetter of Wentzville, Mo., and Ida Tidwell of Advance; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Eric Shrum officiating. Burial will be in Essex Cemetery at Essex, Mo.
