Skinner, Ella A. (nee Wedekind)
Ella A. Skinner, 82 of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, January 08, 2014 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born June 30, 1931 in Jackson, daughter of Gus and Leona Wohlgemuth Wedekind. She and Warren S. Skinner were married May 9, 1954. He survives.
Ella was a lifetime member of Emanuel United Church of Christ in Jackson, where she was a member of Bethany Circle, formerly taught Sunday School, and kept the nursery. She worked at the former Jackson Hosiery Mill, and was a former leader of Greensferry 4-H Club. She and her husband were co-owners of Warren Skinner Plumbing in Jackson.
In addition to her husband, loving survivors include; a son, Mark (Martha) Skinner, and two granddaughters, Lori Skinner and Ashley Skinner, and two great-grandchildren, all of Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Mike Skinner, a grandson, Strawn Skinner, two sisters, Marie Savers and Gusta Koehler.
A visitation will be held Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 4-8 PM at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. The funeral will be Friday at 10:30 AM at the funeral home with the Rev. Bob Atkinson officiating.
Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorials are suggested to Emanuel United Church of Christ.
