Smith, Dortha E. (nee Riegert)
MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Dortha E. Riegert Smith, 85, of Marble Hill, formerly of Advance, Missouri, passed away Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, at Parkland Health Center in Farmington, Missouri.
She was born Aug. 14, 1929, near Randles, daughter of William J. and Elizabeth Brooks Riegert. Dortha and Vernon L. Smith were married July 3, 1948, in Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death Dec. 7, 2012.
Dortha had worked at Inland Shoe Factory in Advance and at Thorngate.
Survivors include a son, Martin Smith of Advance; a daughter, Kathryn Thal of Fredericktown; a sister, Gladys Revelle of Bayton, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers, Jake and Louis Riegert.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time Wednesday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. David Conley officiating.
Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
