Smith, Geraldine Yamnitz (nee Long)
PATTON, Mo. -- Geraldine Yamnitz Smith, 85, of Patton passed away Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
She was born Nov. 10, 1928, in Patton, daughter of John David and Myrtle L. Moyers Long. She married Raymond Yamnitz and later married William Smith, who preceded her in death.
Geraldine was a teacher in area schools and a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.
She is survived by her children, Terry Yamnitz of Patton, Jerry Yamnitz of Perryville, Mo., and Brenda Kay Noe of Patton; three brothers, John Paul Long of Desloge, Mo., Harry Long of St. Louis and Vernon Long of Jackson; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Patton.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kirby Grindstaff officiating. Burial will be in Reagans Chapel Cemetery near Patton.
