Smith, Golda Marie (nee Propst)
A funeral will be held Wednesday, September 24th, 2003 for 91-year-old Golda Marie Smith of Perryville who died Monday, September 22nd at the Perry County Nursing Home.
She was born November 5th, 1911 in Bollinger County, the daughter of Charles and Cora (Seabaugh) Propst, who both preceded her in death.
She married R. Dwight Smith on July 26, 1930. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include: two daughters and sons in law, Betty and Gerald Stortz of Perryville and Glenda and Richard Stockwell of Chester, Illinois; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
A sister, Clola Crites, and a great grandson, Eric Bruckerhoff, also preceded her in death.
She was a laborer at the International Shoe Company and a homemaker; a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Perryville and Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 338 in St. Mary.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. this (Tuesday, September 23rd) afternoon and evening and 6:30-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 24th at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. An Eastern Star wake will be held at 7 p.m. this (Tuesday, September 23rd) evening at the funeral home.
A funeral for 91-year-old Golda Marie Smith of Perryville will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 24th at the Young and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Perryville. Burial will be in the Home Cemetery. The Rev. Nancy Gillard will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the Shriner's Hospital.
