A funeral will be held Saturday, August 4th, 2001 for 90-year-old R. Dwight Smith of Perryville, who died Wednesday, August 1st, 2001 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born October 9th, 1910 in Sedgewickville, the son of Rosewell and Tava (Statler) Smith. They both preceded him in death.

He married Golda M. Propst in 1930. She survives in Perryville.

He is also survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Betty and Gerald Stortz of Perryville and Glenda and Richard Stockwell of Chester, IL.

He is also survived by five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two great-great granddaughters..

He was also preceded in death by a brother and a great-grandson.

He was retired as a Jet Engine Mechanic from Sabreliner. He was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Perryville, a past member of Saline Lodge #226 A.F.A.N, 32 Degree Scottish Rite, Moolah Shrine Temple, Order of Eastern Star Chapter #238 and a retired Teamster.

Visitation will be Friday, August 3rd between 5-9 p.m. and Saturday, August 4th between 6:30-10 a.m. at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryvile. An Eastern Star Service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday and Masonic Service at 7:30 p.m.

A funeral for 90-year-old R. Dwight Smith will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 4th at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. Burial will be at the Home Cemetery. The Rev. Thomas Bass will officiate.

Memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospital in St. Louis.
