The Rev. Coy T. Statler, 62 year old Methodist minister of Van Buren, died at 9:45 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28th, 1978, enroute to St. Francis Memorial Hospital in Mountain View.

Mr. Statler was born Feb. 27th, 1915, in Sedgewickville. He was married to Mildred Bohnenkamp on Oct 9, 1935.

Mr. Statler served as minister in Advance, Birch Tree, Mountain View, Cardwell and the Lowndes Circuit. He was a minister for 24 years in the East Conference of the United Methodist Church in Missouri.

Mr. Statler's hobby was wood-working.

Survivors include his wife, the Rev. Mildred Statler, minister of the United Methodist Church of Van Buren; one daughter, Mary Alice Blaylock of Herculaneum, one son, Paul Statler of Columbia; one brother, Thurman Statler of Arvada, Colo.; two sisters, Della Talley and Carrie Talley, both of Jackson, and five grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Van Buren Methodist Church, with Rev. Neal Stein of Poplar Bluff officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
