Statler, Effie May (nee Lix)
PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Effie M. Statler, 96, of Perryville died Wednesday, July 10, 2002, at Perry County Nursing Home.
She was born Nov. 3, 1905, at Lixville, Mo., daughter of Louis and Rosetta Barks Lix. She and Oscar Statler were married April 8, 1928. He died April 27, 1989.
Statler was a member of Whitewater Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include two sons, Raymond Statler of Patton, Mo., Richard Statler of Perryville; two daughters, Mary Pickering of Patton, Gladys Johnson of Sedgewickville, Mo.; a sister, Pearl Statler of Sedgewickville; 12 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, a grandson, four sisters, and two brothers.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, and 6:30 a.m. to noon Saturday.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Whitewater Presbyterian Church. The Revs. Tom Bass and Donald Blaylock will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
