Statler, Elvis E. "Cotton"
PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Elvis E. "Cotton" Statler, 77, of Perryville died June 27, 2014, at his residence in Perryville.
He was born Sept. 8, 1936, in Friedheim, Missouri, son of Oda R. and Mathilda (Wilke) Statler.
He and Lois Tucker were married May 20, 1974. She survives in Perryville.
Mr. Statler was a carpenter. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of AmVets and the V.F.W.
Survivors include one son, Brian (Erin) Statler of Perryville; one brother and one sister, Elzie O. Statler of Perryville and Violet Hathaway of Lafayette, Indiana; and two grandchildren, Sabrina and Jaden Statler.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ellis Statler; and one sister, Daisey Siefert.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday at Young & Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Thomas Handrick officiating.
Burial will be in the Lixville Cemetery, with military graveside service provided by V.F.W. Post 4282 and Delta Team.
Memorials are preferred to American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or Serenity Hospice.
