Funeral rites for Foster T. Statler of University City, formerly of the Sedgewickville area, were held at 3 p.m., Nov. 25, 1990 at the Sedgewickville Lutheran Church. The Rev. Albert F. Nyland, pastor of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Pocahontas, officiated, and burial was in the church cemetery. Arrangments were handled by Lupton Funeral Home, St. Louis.

Mr. Statler, 82, died Nov. 21, 1990 at Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, after a short illness. He was born July 23 1908 in Lixville, a son of Joseph W. and Mary Jane Statler. In 1940, he was married to Lillie Lorberg, who died April 27, 1971.

He was a former employee of the McDonnell-Douglas Corp. in St. Louis, machinists union.

Surviving are two daughters, Benita Carr and Charlotte Flynn, both of St. Louis; a brother, George Statler of Lutesville; a sister, Ellen Johnson of St. Louis; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
