Gary D. Statler, 63, of Phillips, Nebraska, died Saturday, July 10, 2004, at St. Francis Medical Center. Services will be Tuesday, July 13, 2004, at 2:30 P.M. at Curran Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Mike McDermott will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Phillips Cemetery. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting with arrangements.

Gary was born February 23, 1941, at Kearney, Nebraska, he is the son of Carl & Elizabeth (Wilson) Statler.

Survivors of the immediate family include One Son & Daughter-in-law:
Greg & Lurleen Statler of St. Libory, NE
Three Daughters & a Son-in-law: Angie Statler & Troy Millspaugh of Grand Island, NE
Sherry & John Golden of Grand Island, NE
Carolyn & Doug Statler of Sherman, TX
Three Brothers & Sisters-in-law: Floyd & Alice Wenburg of Lexington, NE
Kenneth & Juanita Wenburg of Elm Creek, NE
Kenneth & Mary Statler of Desert Center, CA
One Sister & Brother-in-law: Margie & Tom Nelson of Lexington, NE

Gary grew up in Kearney & Lexington and received his education there. After his schooling he married Jeanette Soper on February 6, 1967 at Hastings, Nebraska. They lived in Grand Island and he was a construction worker before owning and operating G&J Janitorial Service retiring after 25 years of service in 1998.

Gary enjoyed working, the company of his dog Teddy and his other pets, being with his grandchildren, fishing and cooking.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Proceeded in death by One Daughter Elizabeth Zigler, his Parents.
